Students to complete a series of activities on the worksheet below that includes:
Task 1 - Match the terms to the correct category- Causes, Treatment, Prevention, Surgery or Medical care
Task 2 - How influential was Pasteur’s germ theory in Britain? For each piece of evidence add it to the correct column of your table.
Task 3 - Watch the clip and answer the questions that follow.
Task 4 - Use the information on Robert Koch to add as much information to your mind map as possible
Fleming, Florey and Chain
Students to complete a series of activities on the worksheet below that includes:
Task 1 - Unscramble these anagrams. They are all medical treatments used in modern Britain.
Task 2 - Watch the clip and answer a number of questions.
Task 3 - The story of penicillin. For each of these statements about penicillin say whether it is Fleming or Florey & Chain.
Task 4 - Put the 10 statements into chronological order.
Task 5 - Complete the table below with examples of how each factor helped with the discovery/development of penicillin.
